Angel Gabriel Ministry (Spreading of the Word of God through the Medias)

“The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?”(Amos 3:8)

Today the area of media is very sensitive and complicated. Though it is very helpful in the life of human being, many a time they are misused which leads to the destruction of morality and faith in God. In this context we should realize what the church speaks about it and should think creatively how to make use of the media for the proclamation of the good news.

YOUCAT 412 clearly speaks about the role of media in the present word. It says that the media should contribute to the establishment of justice, freedom and unity in the world. Mostly the Medias are used as the instruments for the ideological clashes in the world. As a result the moral set up is violated and they become the instruments to attract and make people dependant blindly on them. The children think, what they see through the media are fully real. When the media exaggerate the crimes in the name of leisure, when they accept the antisocial behaviors, when they show lack of seriousness in matters of sex, actually they are committing sin according to the youth catechism of the Catholic Church.

Through this Angel Gabriel ministry, Nehemiah missions try to equip the youngsters to use the media with prudence and to help them to benefit out of the media to increase their faith in God. Preaching the word of God to the ends of the world by making use of the modern Medias and social networks is the vision behind this ministry.

Pope John Paul II in his world communication day message states, “The internet can offer magnificent opportunities for evangelization if used with competence and a clear awareness of its strength and weaknesses. Above all, by providing information and stirring interest, it makes possible an initial encounter with the Christian message, especially among the young who increasingly turn to the world of cyber space as a window on the world.”
